Free lung cancer screening is now being offered to eligible patients in Coventry & Warwickshire
Patients aged 55-74 who smoke or have ever smoked may be invited for a free lung cancer screening – this is not in response to a specific concern about your health, but part of a national NHS programme to help improve early detection and treatment of lung disease and lung cancer.
These lung health checks are a like an MOT for your lungs – they’re designed to check your lung health and can help spot any potential issues early.
Most patients will find that their lungs work fine, but some people might benefit from further tests or treatment such as a CT scan at a local mobile unit. Finding any lung problems early can make a big difference so we encourage all patients invited to a screening to take this up.
