The screening appointment is quick, painless and helps identify abdominal aortic aneurysms before they become life-threatening.
Awareness of the screening remains a challenge nationally. Around 84% of men report that they had never heard of AAA screening before receiving their invitation.

Why awareness matters
An abdominal aortic aneurysm can develop without symptoms and may go undetected until it becomes life-threatening. Screening allows aneurysms to be identified early so that they can be monitored or treated where necessary.
